Masculine Blog Hop

The topic for this month's Paperwings Blog Hop is Masculine.  Heiroglyphic Horses is the perfect set for a guy's card!  Here I paired it with TAC's Hip Hop paper collection.  The Happy Birthday greeting is from Trendy Greetings.

Be sure to check out all of the other Masculine cards - here is the list of all the participants!  All blogs should be updated by 8:00 pm on Sunday May 16!

Get Well Card

Today I have a Get Well card to share with you.  This Bitty Bug stamp set is one of my favorites to use on cards for those feeling a bit (or a lot) under the weather!  And I bummed out that it is now going to be retired.  That's good news for you though as you can now purchase it for 25% off.

The cardstock and designer paper is from the Toodle Loo paper collection.  Copics were used to color the image.  And the image was stamped and matted on die cuts from Nestabilities Large Labels.

Enjoy!

Wedding Blog Hop

Paperwings is once again hosting a blog hop!  The theme for this month is Wedding Cards.  You will find a great variety of designs from the participants so be sure to check them all out (the list of participants is at the end of this post.)

White, pink, and black are the colors for my Wedding Card!  I used our Marvelous Mottos stamp set to congratulate the bride and groom!  The stamp is enhanced with pink Copic Markers and is nestled inside 2 layers of Nestabilities.  And notice the brads in the 4 corners of the Nestabilities label too!

And here is view of the full card.  Notice how the layered Nestabilities are popped up using foam tape giving it a bit of dimension.

So that's my Wedding Card.  Now check out the cards from the rest of our participants!

Speaking Pirate

I ben surfin' th' net t' find ou' why swashbucklers, skulls, an' crossbones be so popular today! Modern swashbucklers continue t' cause havoc on th' high seas an' be a dangerous lot t' be sure.

Perhaps th' "Shipmates o' th' Caribbean" movies be havin' contributed t' our fascination wi' swashbucklers an' the'r symbols.

I certainly found pages an' pages o' swashbuckler related items on ETSY when I created this Shipmate Treasury!

Polka Dots Anyone?

It's been awhile since I have posted here.  I was holed up in my craft cave sewing and quilting for spring craft fairs.  They were very successful but prep time was all-consuming!  The March ones are over for another year and now it is onto getting ready for May.  But I have a bit of a break here and now am getting caught up on a few things - like my blog!

So today I was back in the craft cave!  However, I actually made something for myself!  Yeah!  I decided it was time to make myself a new purse.  So, as I was sorting through patterns and my fabric stash I came across this pink and black polka dot fabric!  So after ironing, cutting, stitching, quilting, and constructing the fabric was transformed into this purse!!

I quilted the purse with straight line quilting following the same angle used to join the two pieces of fabric.

I used both the pink and the black fabric for the inside lining as I couldn't decided on just one!

The grommets were an exercise in faith.  You actually need to cut out a circle through all the layers in order to assemble the grommets!  But they turned out really well and I love that they are large enough you can actually see through them!

I'm hoping to make a matching wallet in the near future so stay tuned for that post!

Popup Notecards

Here is a new twist on Popup Cards - popup 3 x 3 notecards!  The popup brace is made just like you make them for A2 cards but on a smaller scale!

I first stamped "Happy Easter" from Trendy Greetings on a circle and then layered it on 2 layers of scalloped circles.  The top circle also has a gem and Turquoise Scrappers Floss!

Then I used Joy of Easter stamp set for the popups in the 3x3 notecards.  Here are a couple of my favorites:  the lamb and the chick in the jar!

Notice that I added the coordinating Catelynne designer paper to the inside of the white cardstock to better "pop" the pop-up !

I used our Copic Markers for the coloring!  I continue to fall in love with how well they color and blend!  I still have a long ways to go in being proficient with them, but it's a start!

March Blog Hop - Easter

What a wonderful today!  The sun was out - a welcome site after a week of rain and grey skies.  It was warm - well into the 50's!  Spring is indeed on its way!  There is only a hint of the snowy winter that we have had - just a bit of snow left in protected areas.  And best of all, I got to spend the day with my dear sister!

It is time once again for another blog hop with friends and fellow Angel Company demonstrators.  The theme for this months blog hop is Easter.

I created another gatefold card using the Joy of Easter stamp, Copics, and the Catelynne paper collection from The Angel Company.  The Joy of Easter stamp set is certainly one of my favorites these days!

And now, take a look at the other creations.  They all should be available after 8:00 pm (Central Time) on Sunday, March 14!  Have fun...
